A winding wire structure (1) is formed by closely contacting and arraying a plurality of winding layer portions (3) in a thickness direction, said winding layer portions being formed in such a way that one continuous flat-section wire rod (2) deformed so as to wind in a helical shape is compressed to form a spiral shape. In the winding layer portions, a curvature radius corresponding to the curvature of a curved portion of a winding portion adjacent on the outer peripheral side is set to a value obtained by adding the length of the section of said wire rod in a deformation direction to a curvature radius corresponding to the curvature of a curved portion of a winding portion adjacent on the inner peripheral side, and thereby the wire rod is formed so as to have curvatures that sequentially decrease from the inner periphery toward the outer periphery and is compressed so as to closely contact over the entire periphery. In adjacent winding layer portions, wire rods disposed facing each other in an intermediate portion are touched with each other and set in a close contact state. The winding layer portions other than those at both ends are continuously connected to adjacent winding layer portions by the wire rods that are not disposed facing each other on the outer and inner peripheral sides of the same side portion.
