<p>A server for use as a profile database in a public land mobile network, PLMN, of a service provider and for storing and managing service profiles identifying services available to a machine type communication, MTC, device via an access network. The server comprises a means for receiving, which may be a receiver, configured to receive from a node of the PLMN activation data identifying one of a plurality of external service profiles to be activated, the identified external service profile being associated with the MTC device and stored in a memory of the server. The server comprises a means for activating a profile, which may be a profile activator, configured to activate the external service profile identified in the received activation data. The server comprises a means for generating a profile, which may be a profile generator, configured to generate an internal service profile based on the activated external service profile and a basic service profile associated with the MTC device and stored within the memory of the server. The internal service profile identifies the services available to the MTC device.</p> |
