The present invention relates to a door lock device for a washing machine comprising: a main body (10) having a receiving space (11) with an opened upper part; a cover (20) to cover the opened upper part of the main body (10); a locker (30) installed in the receiving space (11) to be slid and having a rack gear (31) formed on one side surface; a gear unit (40) installed to be engaged with the rack gear (31); a driving motor (50) having a worm gear (51) engaged with the gear unit (40); and a control member to convert a driving direction of the driving motor (50) in accordance to the position of the locker (30). The control member (60) comprises: guide bars (61) formed at a constant length and having first, second, and third installation grooves (H1, H2, H3) longitudinally formed on a top surface, a side surface, and a bottom surface; and first, second, and third contact plates (62, 63, 64) respectively installed in the first, second, and third installation grooves (H1, H2, H3) of the guide bars (61). The first, second, and third plates to detect the position of the locker to control the driving motor are vertically installed by the guide bars to reduce a horizontal installation space of the contact plates; thereby making the door lock device for a washing machine small. |
