A self-cooled motor is capable of being attached to a wall surface of a high temperature chamber through two or more attachment portions (52), and includes a shaft (1) arranged to extend into the high temperature chamber. The self-cooled motor includes the shaft (1), the shaft (1) being supported by a bearing (10) so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis (J) extending in a vertical direction; a rotor (2) arranged to rotate together with the shaft (1); a stator (3) arranged radially opposite the rotor (2); a housing (5) arranged to support the bearing (10) and the stator (3); and an impeller (6) arranged axially below the rotor (2), and arranged to rotate together with the shaft (1) to generate an air current traveling radially outward. The housing (5) includes a base portion (50) arranged axially above the rotor (2); the two or more attachment portions (52), each attachment portion (52) being arranged radially outward of the rotor (2); and a substantially cylindrical cover portion (51) arranged to join the base portion (50) and the attachment portions (52) to each other. A lower end of each attachment portion (52) is arranged at a level lower than that of the impeller (6). The base portion (50) includes an air inlet (54). The cover portion (51) includes an air outlet (55) arranged between adjacent ones of the attachment portions (52), and arranged to connect a space radially inside the housing (5) and a space radially outside the housing (5) with each other. |
