<p>A primary power supply (27) charges a capacitor (31) by turning on a switching element (28, 29) and, upon completion of charging, turns off the switching element (28, 29). Then, an AC pulse voltage is applied to the gap between a wire electrode (32) and a workpiece (33) by alternately turning on and off a switching element (23, 24, 25, 26) present in a secondary power supply (22). After a dielectric breakdown occurs between the wire electrode (32) and the workpiece (33), the switching element (30) is turned on to connect the capacitor (31) so that it supplies a pulse current for machining.</p> |
