<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing glass preforms which further reduces the manufacturing cost to a lower level. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing glass preforms comprises adjusting the volume V of the inside of a container 11 for a glass fine particle deposit 14 depending on the outer diameter of the glass preform by partitioning the container 11 with 0.2-2.0 mm-thick partition plates 31-33 at the surface along the central axis of the glass fine particle deposit 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
