The closure (1) has a safety catch (8) engaged with a rotary latch (5) in an engagement position so as to prevent the latch from moving toward an open position. A drive element (11) moves the safety catch between the engagement position and a releasing position in which the safety catch is not engaged with the latch such that the latch moves toward the open position. The drive element moves the safety catch during the movement away from the engagement position toward the releasing position such that the latch engaged with the safety catch during the movement moves toward the open position. An independent claim is also included for a method for opening a motor car door closure. |
