The present invention relates to a fingerprint scanning apparatus, which includes: a contact light emitting part where a contact part by a living body probably including a fingerprint emits a light; a rod lens array part where a plurality of rod lenses capable of transmitting the light generated in the contact light emitting part is arranged linearly; and a linear image sensor part where a plurality of image sensors is arranged linearly. The image sensors are charged with charges by detecting the light passing through the rod lens array part. The fingerprint scanning apparatus of the present invention can reduce costs through unnecessary structure such as a prism and a light source, as a volume thereof is reduced dramatically compared to the existing optical fingerprint scanning apparatus. Also, because a fingerprint input area can be easily increased through a linear line extension method, expandability is improved compared to the prior semiconductor type fingerprint scanning apparatus.
