<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply lossless compression to measurement data and increase the rate of compression. <P>SOLUTION: A method for compressing measurement data includes: a first step of setting raw data of measurement data varying in time series as original data, and setting a compression rate to 1 and a differentiation count to 0; a second step of compressing the original data; a third step of differentiating the original data; a fourth step of calculating a compression rate of the differentiated data of the third step relative to the compressed data of the second step; a fifth step of determining whether or not the calculated compression rate has improved; a sixth step of further differentiating the differentiated data and repeating the fourth step of calculating the compression rate relative to the compressed data of the second step if the determination asserts an improvement in the compression rate; a seventh step of specifying the preceding differentiated data as final compressed data if the determination negates an improvement in the compression rate; and an eighth step of saving the final compressed data with the count of differentiations attached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
