<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of gas carburizing capable of suppressing generations of sooting or an abnormal structure and also reducing the time for carburizing. <P>SOLUTION: Carburizing is performed using carburizing atmospheric gas in a temperature region where cementite is not precipitated on a surface of a treated article, the carburizing atmospheric gas having a composition equivalent to a composition including CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>reduced from converted gas produced using hydrocarbon gas and air and having a carbon potential exceeding an amount ofγphase saturated carbon in a phase equilibrium diagram of a steel at carburizing treatment temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
