<p>A continuously variable transmission comprises a pair of pressing means that form a torque transmission contact portion in a disk overlapping area where an input disk and an output disk overlap each other. A tilting means is provided to tilt the pressing means toward an input shaft side or an output shaft side in response to a clamping-pressing force on both disks by the pressing means. Contact portions of the pressing means forming the torque transmission contact portion are formed by curved surfaces having different curvatures. The pressing means tilt so that the curvature of the contact portion decreases as the clamping pressing force on both disks by the pressing means increases. The area of a torque transmission portion increases as the clamping pressing force on both disks by the pressing means increases.</p> |
