<p>The invention relates to a method for producing and providing water-conducting components made of brass alloys, such as fittings and the like, having lower metal ion release during use. A copper sulfide layer is applied to the surfaces of the components coming into contact with water during use. It is preferable for the respective surfaces of the component to be deplated in a preceding or concurrent process step. The method can particularly also be applied in cases where the respective components are already chromium-plated on the decorative surfaces thereof when the method is employed.</p> |
