This application discloses an identification circuit for a power sourcing equipment, and a powered device. The identification circuit includes a charge retention module, a load module, an identification module, and an overload protection monitoring module, where the charge retention module is connected to the power sourcing equipment or a voltage converting module to which the power sourcing equipment is connected, and after being charged by an input voltage of the power sourcing equipment or the voltage converting module, outputs a first charging voltage; the load module connects to the power sourcing equipment or the voltage converting module when a difference value of the input voltage of the power sourcing equipment or the voltage converting module minus the first charging voltage is greater than a threshold, where a load power of the load module is set as that the power sourcing equipment does not generate overload protection when the power sourcing equipment is the first power sourcing equipment, and the power sourcing equipment generates overload protection when the power sourcing equipment is the second power sourcing equipment; the overload protection monitoring module detects whether the power sourcing equipment generates overload protection; and the identification module is charged by the first charging voltage when the power sourcing equipment generates overload protection, and outputs a second charging voltage as an identification signal. |
