摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustible gas detection method and a combustible gas detection apparatus in which a combustible gas in a gas to be examined can be detected and a combustion heat quantity of the combustible gas constituting the gas to be examined can be detected easily even if air is mixed in an unknown ratio into the gas to be examined. <P>SOLUTION: The combustible gas detection method includes measuring a refraction factor and a density of a gas to be examined which is sampled together with air and for which it is possible to contain a combustible gas comprised of a paraffinic hydrocarbon gas (called paraffinic gas thereafter), and determining a heat quantity of the combustible gas constituting the gas to be examined from a correlation, acquired beforehand, between a ratio of the density with respect to the refraction factor of the paraffinic gas and the combustion heat quantity of the combustible gas on the basis of a ratio (▵d/▵n) calculated from a difference▵n (n1-n0) between a value n1 of the obtained refraction factor and a value n0 of a refraction factor of air and a difference▵d (d1-d0) between a value d1 of the obtained density and a value d0 of a density of air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
