The present invention relates to an electrolyte for a sodium secondary battery and a sodium secondary battery adopting the same. More particularly, the sodium secondary battery includes a negative electrode containing sodium; a positive electrode containing a transition metal; and a sodium ion-conductive solid electrolyte provided between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, wherein the positive electrode is impregnated with a mixed salt electrolyte containing a molten sodium salt and an electrolyte additive, and the electrolyte additive contains a halogen-free sodium salt and a metal halide compound at the same time.
