A device to dewater sludge or slurry produced during building or construction works comprises a framework or support stand A that is located within a container (not shown). The framework may comprise a plurality of legs and a base. In use a plurality of filter media [Fig 1, B, C and D] are located in the support framework and may comprise a hessian filter or layers of micro pond filter. The filter media may vary in size from fine to coarse and may be interchangeable, cleaned and replaced as required. Dirty, contaminated or wash water may be poured into the device on top of the filters. The filters trap sediment and aggregates and allow filtered water to pass through under the action of gravity to the lower section of the device where the filtered water is held. A tap or valve may be provided to allow water to be drawn off. |
