Glucocorticosteroids that are derivatives of isoxazolidine are useful as anti-inflammatory and antiallergic compounds of the glucocorticosteroid series.

A compound of formula (I): wherein R1 is linear or branched (C1-C16)alkyl, linear or branched (C2-C18)alkenyl, —OR6, aryl, aryl(C1-C16)alkyl, —SR6, —N(R4)(R5), (C3-C8)cycloalkyl, (C3-C8)heterocycloalkyl, or heteroaryl, wherein optionally one or more hydrogen atoms are replaced by (C1-C6)alkyl, and wherein R4 and R5 are independently H or linear or branched (C1-C6)alkyl, and R6 is linear or branched (C1-C16)alkyl; R2 is aryl optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
