An entertainment device operating on an alternative revenue share basis is provided for. Operation of an entertainment device is described comprising the steps of a) setting a predetermined level of permitted revenue, b) monitoring the difference between credit entered at an entertainment device and any payment made by the entertainment device ("the revenue generated") and c) suspending operation of the entertainment device when the revenue generated exceeds the predetermined level of permitted revenue.
