The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for alleviating or treating gastric cancer, comprising an inhibitor which inhibits expression of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein as an active ingredient. In addition, provided are a method for providing information about a treatment effect of gastric cancer, comprising a step of measuring expression level of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein in a sample after treating any gastric cancer, a diagnostic kit for confirming a treatment effect of gastric cancer, a method for inhibiting expression of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein, and a method for alleviating or treating gastric cancer. It is effectively applied to alleviate or treat gastric cancer due to decreasing invasion and mobility level of cancer cell in case of using an inhibitor of the present invention.
