The present invention relates to a side mirror for a vehicle, used to remove rainwater attached on the side mirror using air resistance while the vehicle is driven, and more specifically, relates to a side mirror for a vehicle comprising: a base plate installed on a door panel; a mirror housing connected to the base plate; and a mirror body mounted on the rear surface part of the mirror housing to allow a driver to observe rearward. The side mirror comprises: an air passage passing from one side of the front surface of the mirror housing adjacent to the base plate to the rear surface thereof to allow air to be taken in from the front surface of the mirror housing and discharged into the mirror body; and a rainwater inducing groove transversely cut to be formed on the front surface of the mirror housing adjacent to the base plate, the rainwater inducing groove being formed from one side of the front surface to the other side thereof. According to the present invention, air passes from the front surface of the mirror housing for the vehicle to the rear surface thereof such that air is discharged from the front surface of the vehicle into the mirror body of the side mirror through the air passage when the vehicle is driven, thereby removing the rainwater attached on the surface of the side mirror. Therefore, the side mirror has a simple structure to be easily installed on the vehicle at low cost. When the air is discharged from the upper side of the mirror body to the lower side thereof to remove rainwater drops attached to the mirror body, the rainwater drop is intended to be discharged to the exterior of the vehicle in the direction of a slope, thereby allowing the rainwater drop attached to the mirror body to be easily washed away. Moreover, rainwater, which can be introduced into an interior of the air passage, is discharged not to the mirror body through the air passage, but to the outside through a separate discharging passage, thereby easily removing rainwater from the surface of the side mirror. |
