The present invention relates to a height adjustment apparatus for the seat of a vehicle, having a clutch means installed in the space formed between a clutch drum and a clutch rotor in a circumferential direction to minimize the thickness of the height adjustment apparatus and accurately guiding a neutral position of a clutch unit in a restoration direction with respect to a brake unit to minimize the vertical clearance of an operational lever. The height adjustment apparatus comprises: the clutch rotor (20) interconnected with a lever bracket (10); the clutch drum (30) rotatably installed on the exterior of the clutch rotor (20); the clutch means (40) installed radially outward from a space between the clutch rotor (20) and the clutch drum (30); a brake drum (50) installed on a cushion frame of the seat; a brake rotor (60) interconnected with the clutch drum (30) inside the brake drum (50); a brake means (70) installed radially outward from a space between the brake drum (50) and the brake rotor (60); an output side member (80) engaged with the braked rotor (60) and having an output teeth part (86) to output rotatory power to the outside; and a neutral position setting part for restricting the neutral position of the clutch rotor (20) with respect to the brake drum (50).
