The reactor i.e. indirectly-heated drum reactor (1), has a rotating reactor chamber divided into zones by a ring-shaped metal sheet, and a mechanically-adjustable conveying tool fastened to the metal sheet. A conveying coil is provided at a reactor-inner drum-casing. Heating pipes running in a longitudinal axial direction are arranged in the reactor chamber. The reactor chamber is surrounded by a reactor-outer drum (6), and an annular space is formed between the reactor chamber and the outer drum, where the outer drum rotates together with the reactor chamber.
