A liquid crystal display device includes: a light source generating light; a backlight assembly including an optical sheet enabling the light to pass through; and a display panel arranged on top of the backlight assembly. The optical sheet includes an extension unit and a transmission unit formed as a single unit. The transmission unit is extended in a first direction. The extension unit is continuously extended from the edge of the transmission unit in a second direction which is different from the first direction. The optical sheet additionally includes a side surface light shielding unit coupled to the extension unit. The liquid crystal display device can reduce the light leakage of the adjacent area.
