An apparatus for evaluating intellectual properties includes: a communications interface which is connected to a user terminal and transmits and receives data; a memory which stores commands for evaluating an intellectual property; and a processor which performs evaluation according to the commands. The commands perform the steps of: receiving input of evaluation item selection for selecting at least one predetermined evaluation item from the user terminal; receiving input of evaluation weight setting for setting the weights for each evaluation item corresponding to the input of evaluation item selection from the user terminal; calculating an evaluation score according to each evaluation item corresponding to the input of evaluation item selection with respect to a patent; applying the weights to each evaluation score according to the input of evaluation weight setting and calculating the total score of the evaluation by summing each evaluation score to which the weights have been applied; and generating a report including at least one from the total score for the patent and a grade based on the total score.
