The present invention relates to a public parking lot management system, and more specifically, to a public parking lot management system which can manage parking and prevent an accident between vehicles in a parking lot disposed in a large market, a department store, a public park, an airport, an apartment complex, etc. The public parking lot management system according to the present invention comprises: an entry detection sensor installed on an entrance of a parking lot to detect whether a vehicle enters the parking lot; an entry photographing camera unit to photograph a vehicle if entry of the vehicle is detected by the entry detection sensor; a license plate number calculation unit to calculate a license plate number from an image of the vehicle photographed by the entry photographing camera; an input means to receive parking space assignment as input from a driver; a parking space assigning unit to assign an available parking space according to a request of the driver; an output means to output information including a location of the assigned parking space; a parking detection sensor installed in the parking space to detect whether the corresponding parking space is vacant or occupied; and a control unit connected to the entry detection sensor, the entry photographing camera, the license plate number calculation unit, the input means, the parking space assigning unit, the output means, and the parking detection sensor. |
