FIELD: radio engineering, communication.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems and is intended for precoding and using parameterised codebook subsets, which can be used to limit codebook choices for different multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) operating modes. The method provides advantages for sending precoder selection feedback from a second transceiver to a first transceiver, used as precoding recommendations. The second transceiver generates two types of precoder selection feedback depending on whether the second transceiver operates in a first or second feedback mode, depending on whether the precoder selection feedback is sent on a data channel or control channel, respectively.
