An image processing device and method are disclosed, the method comprising the following steps: inputting user information; designating as the destination of image data catalogue information with respect to said user based on the user information; recording said catalogue information and performing control so as not to record the catalogue information corresponding to a transfer protocol which is specified as blocked from a plurality of transfer protocols.
