FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: child's statural-weight index (SWI) is pre-measured; if the index is less than 340 standard units, 24-hour urine zinc, selenium, lead concentrations are determined by atomic absorption method, and the lead/zinc and lead/selenium concentrations are related. If the relation index are twice as much as specified normal values or more, the male adolescent is diagnosed with delayed puberty caused by abnormal levels of multiple microelements. If the statural-weight index of a male adolescent is more than 400 standard units, urine chromium concentration is measured, and if the measured level is min. twice as less as specified normal values, the male adolescent is diagnosed with delayed puberty caused by abnormal levels of single microelement.EFFECT: using the declared technique enables providing higher accuracy and reliability of diagnosing delayed puberty in male adolescents and detecting the abnormality early.2 tbl, 2 ex |
