A modular railway station platform comprising a grid supported by a plurality of height adjustable grid -support posts11. The grid supporting a modular array of platform floor panels 9, each panel 9 being of size whereby edge portions are supported by the grid thereunder to thereby form a continuous platform surface. The height of the coper region being substantially horizontal along its major axis and the width of the platform sloping downwardly away from the railway line 3 when in situ. A method is also disclosed comprising the steps of forming a grid of inverted U-shaped (or C-shaped) channels 10 over an existing railway platform substructure 12. Supporting this grid on height adjustable support posts 11 and adjusting the height of the grid so that it is substantially horizontal along its major axis while sloping downwards away from the railway line. |
