PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a sealed battery including a battery case including an outer can and a lid plate covering an opening of the outer can, which enables the easy engagement of the lid plate with an edge part of the opening of the outer can while increasing the productivity.SOLUTION: A sealed battery (1) comprises a battery case (10) in which an electrode body (30) and an electrolytic solution are sealed. The battery case (10) includes a box-like outer can (11) having an opening (11a), and a lid plate (12) covering the opening (11a) and in this condition, welded to a peripheral part (11f) of the opening (11a). The lid plate (12) has an outer peripheral part (12a) and a folded part (12b) on the outer peripheral part; the folded part is folded and disposed inside the opening (11a). The lid plate is welded to the peripheral part (11f) at least on an outer peripheral side of the folded part (12b).
