Provided is an amplification device that contributes to amplifying amplicons to a suitable amount. The amplification device is provided with: an amplification unit; a monitoring unit; and a control unit. The amplification unit is a means for amplifying a desired base sequence by heating and cooling a sample solution. The monitoring unit is a means for monitoring the amount of base sequences being amplified by the amplification unit, that is, the amplicons. The control unit is a means for ending the amplification processing by the amplification unit on the basis of the amount of amplicons monitored by the monitoring unit.
