The present invention is to provide: fluoropolyether group-containing polymer-modified silane, which is capable of forming a water and oil repellent layer having excellent wear resistance, weather resistance, and low dynamic friction within a short period of time under mild hardening conditions such as room temperature hardening or the like; a surface treating agent containing the silane and/or a partial hydrolyzed condensate; and articles whose surface is treated with the surface treating agent. The present invention provides the fluoropolyether group-containing polymer-modified silane represented by following general formula (1), wherein Rf is a residue of a polymer containing a monovalent fluoro-oxyalkyl group or a divalent fluoro-oxyalkylene group; Y is a hydrogen carbon group with 2 to 6 carbon atoms capable of having a siloxane bond or a silylene group; R is independently an alkyl group or a phenyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; X is independently a hydrolyzable group; n is an integer between 1 and 3; m is an integer between 1 and 5; and α is 1 or 2.
