METHOD FOR OPERATING ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE

The present invention relates to a method to operate an electric arc furnace wherein power transmission time and an entire operational time can be reduced; thereby a power unit can be reduced by charging a heating agent for raising a temperature of a molten steel by reacting with the molten steel during operation of the electric arc furnace into the electric arc furnace at a point of time of a melt-down after charging scraps for a last time. The present invention comprises the steps of: manufacturing molten steel by charging and melting scraps; charging a heating agent composed of Fe-Si ferroalloy scraps capable of providing the molten steel with a heat of reaction by oxidation at the point of time of the melt-down after charging the scraps for the last time during the step of manufacturing the molten steel; raising the temperature of the manufactured molten steel; and tapping the molten steel having the temperature thereof raised.
