Disclosed are a method and device for monitoring an enhanced multimedia broadcast/multicast service. The method comprises: receiving service usage information about an enhanced multimedia broadcast/multicast service (eMBMS) reported by a user equipment, wherein the eMBMS service usage information is used for characterising that the user equipment is using an eMBMS service; monitoring a use state of the eMBMS service within a setting time according to the received eMBMS service usage information about the UE; and determining whether to continue to broadcast the eMBMS service according to the monitored use state of the eMBMS service. The method enables a network device to be able to determine a use state of an eMBMS service in time according to eMBMS service usage information reported by a user equipment, and to stop broadcasting the eMBMS service when no user equipment is using the eMBMS service, thereby saving a system resource of the network device and achieving the effect of saving energy. |
