PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducer and reproduction method that enable a user to more actually feel contribution to energy saving or power saving.SOLUTION: A reproducer for voice, video, and the like comprises: time calculation means for calculating reproduction omission time for a content; means for reproducing the content; electric energy calculation means for calculating saving electric energy from the reproduction omission time; and display means for generating a signal for visualizing the saving electric energy for a display unit. A reproduction method for the reproducer for voice, video, and the like includes: a time calculation process for calculating reproduction omission time for a content; a process for reproducing the content; an electric energy calculation process for calculating saving electric energy from the reproduction omission time; and a display process for generating a signal for visualizing the saving electric energy for a display unit.
