A transmission apparatus for a vehicle is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the transmission apparatus for a vehicle comprises: a transmission lever manipulating a transmission to switch a driving mode of a vehicle; a P gear button switching the transmission to be in the parking mode; and a control unit switching the gear into the P gear when the current gear is the R gear or the N gear or the D gear or the driving mode of the vehicle is the manual mode during activation of the P gear button and moving the transmission lever in a predetermined direction and restoring the transmission lever to an original state when the current gear is the P gear during activation of the P gear button.
