The present invention relates to a method for providing, by a transparent Internet cache (TIC) server, a service in a communications network which supports a multipath transport control protocol (MPTCP). According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: establishing an MPTCP connection of a user terminal and an original server through a first network; releasing the MPTCP connection established between the user terminal and the original server in a case where data related to a service corresponding to a service providing request is cached, when the service providing request is received from the user terminal; and providing the service corresponding to the service providing request to the user terminal.
