摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermittent coating method and an intermittent coating device capable of obtaining a uniform coating shape even when starting the coating.SOLUTION: A catalyst ink is intermittently applied from a coating nozzle onto the surface of an electrolyte film while the electrolyte film is continuously travelled according to a roll-to-roll method with a constant speed. A liquid reservoir of catalyst ink is formed on the tip of the coating nozzle upon intermittence of the coating. Upon the starting of the coating, the coating nozzle is moved such that an interval between the tip of the coating nozzle and the surface of the electrolyte film gets to a contact gap SG different from a coating gap TG to bring a liquid reservoir into contact with a coating starting edge of a coating region and, thereby, the catalyst ink is applied onto the coating region without excess or shortage. The larger a film thickness of a coated film formed on the surface of the electrolyte film, the larger the contact gap SG becomes and, when the film thickness of the coated film is larger than a predetermined value, the film thickness becomes larger than the coating gap TG.
