PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic drive unit in which a position and a load of a hydraulic actuator can be precisely controlled with simple structure by utilizing a speed reduction ratio that is a substantial advantage of an air-hydro booster.SOLUTION: A hydraulic drive unit 1 comprises: an air-hydro converter 3 which converts pneumatic pressure to hydraulic pressure; a first flow rate control valve 7 which adjusts a flow of air from an air pressure source 2, and supplies it to the air-hydro converter 3; a second flow rate control valve 8 which adjusts a flow of a pressurized liquid from the air-hydro converter 3; an air-hydro booster 4 which converts the pneumatic pressure to boosted hydraulic pressure; a servo valve 9 which adjusts a flow rate of air from the air pressure source 2, and supplies it to the air-hydro booster 4; a hydraulic actuator 5; and control means 11 which controls the supply of the pressurized liquid to the hydraulic actuator 5. A pressure receiving area of the hydraulic actuator 5 is formed larger than a rod area of the air-hydro booster 4. |
