An adapter with at least two adapter parts which can be coupled to each other, comprising: a first adapter part which has, at a first end, a plug for coupling to a USB socket and, at a second end, at least one first electrical contact element, and a first part of a magnetic coupling device, and wherein a second adapter part has, at a first end which is provided for coupling to the second end of the first adapter part, at least one electrical counter-contact element, and a second part of the magnetic coupling device, and an interface at a second end, and wherein the first adapter part forms, at its second end, at least one contact face which is inclined relative to a cross-sectional surface which is oriented at right angles to a longitudinal axis of the adapter, and wherein the second adapter part has a complementary contact face at its first end, and the respective contact faces adjoin each other in a plane-parallel fashion when the respective first and second adapter parts are coupled magnetically to each other by the magnetic coupling device.
