The present invention provides a method and apparatus for processing a video file including a plurality of video frames, the method comprising: determining a relative motion vector of each video frame in the plurality of video frames relative to a preceding video frame; spatially aligning the plurality of video frames based on the relative motion vector, so as to determine corresponding pixel points of a same spatial point on each video frame of the plurality of video frames; clustering all pixel points corresponding to said each spatial point to obtain pixel points which correspond to said each spatial point and are associated with a background; and creating a picture associated with the background of the video file based on the obtained pixel points which correspond to said each spatial point and are associated with the background.
