The present invention relates to a plant disease prevention and antimicrobial composition containing at least one compound selected among bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, diethyl phthalate, and a p-hydroxybenzoic acid or a salt thereof as an active ingredient as well as a method for preventing plant diseases by treating plants or soil with the plant disease prevention composition. The compound having an antibacterial activity against grapevine crown gall pathogen isolated from hairy vetch and the antimicrobial composition containing the compound as an active ingredient can be utilized in the biopesticide industry.
