Disclosed are a sound recognition system and method. According to an embodiment, the sound recognition system includes a plurality of terminals and a server connected with the terminals through a communications network. Each of the terminals is temporally synchronized with the server when connecting to the server, registers each piece of position information in the server, receives sound spoken from a speaker, and converts the received sound to a sound signal to be transmitted to the server. The server calculates time in which the sound reaches each of the terminals from the sound signals received from each of the terminals. The weighted sound signals are integrated according to a distance between the speaker and the terminals calculated based on the time, and a command for controlling a particular target can be recognized. |
