PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve airtight performance between a cylindrical body and a sensor element.SOLUTION: In a gas sensor 10, when a green compact 45a is sealed between an inner peripheral surface 42c of a metallic main body metal fitting 42 and a sensor element 20, an arithmetic average roughness Ra of the inner peripheral surface 42c is 0.1 to 2 μm. The gas sensor 10 is arranged inside a through-hole of the main body metal fitting 42, while the sensor element 20 penetrates the inner part of the through-hole. The gas sensor 10 includes supporters 44a, 44b for sandwiching and pressuring the green compact 45a from both sides of an axial direction. The arithmetic average roughness Ra of at least one of the supporters 44a, 44b is equal to or less than 0.5 μm. |
