PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly mix replenished toner and residual toner with high accuracy within the required minimum stirring time.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a developing part which includes a storage part which stores toner, a stirring part which stirs the toner in the storage part, and a roller to which the toner in the storage part is adhered and which adheres the toner to an image formed on an image carrier, to visualize the image; a transfer part which transfers a predetermined image which is the image visualized by the developing part to a medium to be transferred; a detection part which detects a density deviation which is the deviation of the density of the predetermined image due to a difference in the toner adhesion amount of the predetermined image transferred on the medium to be transferred; and a control part which stirs the toner by the stirring part for a stirring time based on the density deviation detected by the detection part and inhibits the visualization of the image by the developing part, when the toner is replenished into the storage part.
