摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure visibility of characters in three-dimensional maps, and attain a stereoscopic display.SOLUTION: When displaying a three-dimensional map, features are perspectively projected based on a prescribed viewpoint position and line-of-sight direction to create a feature image. Further, a board polygon having characters adhered is arranged in a virtual three-dimensional space, and a character image is parallely projected to create the character image. The board polygon is arranged in a direction along a road and is arranged with the board polygon tilted from a ground level. A tilt angle between the board polygon and the ground level is set based on a display direction of the road and a position of displaying the character. Accordingly, while the feature image is created by the perspective projection, the character image is created by the parallel projection, thereby negative effects such as difficulty reading characters away and the like can be avoided, which in turn enables the characters to be displayed in a stereoscopic shape without reduction in visibility of the characters.
