The syringe gasket (1) is provided with a core section (2) and a covering layer (3) provided at least on the portion of the core section (2) that contacts the syringe. In the area on which the covering layer is formed, the outer surface of the core section (2) is not exposed and the outer surface layer is formed by the covering layer (3). The covering layer (3) is an elastic solidified substance layer obtained from a silicone resin composition. The covering layer (3) has, in images of cross-sections in the axial direction of the gasket magnified using a transmission electron microscope, island-like solidified sections and sea-like solidified sections, which are located between the island-like solidified sections and connect the island-like solidified sections, and has substantially no pin holes. The island-like solidified sections have reactive silicone aggregates as the main constituent. |
