A shock voltage generating apparatus (100) is provided with: an insulation cylinder (180); a direct current power supply (111) that is positioned outside of the insulation cylinder (180); capacitors (151), which are sequentially connected in parallel to the direct current power supply (111), and which are respectively housed in metal containers (150) that are positioned outside of the insulation cylinder (180) by being provided on a plurality of stages, respectively; discharge gap switches (160), which are positioned inside of the insulation cylinder (180), and which are provided among the stages; an air blowing mechanism (181) that flows an insulation gas to the inside of the insulation cylinder (180); bushings (152) for the capacitors (151), said bushings being positioned outside of the insulation cylinder (180); and gas blowing mechanisms (170), which are positioned outside of the insulation cylinder (180), and which blow the insulation gas to the bushings (152). |
