PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information selection apparatus for creating recommendation information without chilling user's willingness to buy while containing relatively many costly items.SOLUTION: An information selection apparatus comprises: a price information storage unit storing an identifier for identifying each item or category and price information on the item or category while making the identifier and the price information correspond to each other; a relevant set storage unit storing identifiers of a plurality of other items or categories of relevance as well as degrees of relevance of the other items or categories, the other items or categories being relevant to the identifier of one reference item or category; and an information selection unit acquiring the price information and the degree of relevance of each of the identifiers of relevance for a certain reference identifier by referring to the price information storage unit and the relevant set storage unit, defining a price information condition relating to the price information and a relevance degree condition relating to the degree of relevance based on a predetermined criterion, extracting the identifiers whose price information satisfies the price information condition and whose degree of relevance satisfies the relevance degree condition, and selecting the extracted identifiers as a selected set corresponding to the reference identifier. |
