PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system and a control unit for power steering systems capable of reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: A motor controller 30 includes a number-of-current detection times designation circuit 31b that, when a steering signal receiving unit 38 receives a steering torque value T representing a steering wheel maneuvered state, sets the number of times, by which a current detection circuit 31a detects a direct-current bus current value IDC, to one per two PWM cycles, and that, when the steering signal receiving unit 38 receives a steering torque value T representing a steering wheel non-maneuvered state, designates the number of detection times so that the number of detection times is smaller than one per two PWM cycles. |
